How to Change Oracle Financials Password

To change your password, follow these steps:
  1. Log onto the Oracle Financials application.
  2. In the upper right corner, click Preferences.
  3. In the Change Password area, complete the Old Password, New Password and Repeat Password fields.  Your password must meet certain requirements.

  5. If you work with one of the enterprise applications, your application password is subject to certain strength requirements.   See the appropriate application below for details.

    HRIS, SIS, PAS

  6. Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  7. Student Information System (SIS)
  8. Property Accounting Services (PAS)
The following strength requirements apply to your password:
Must Contain
  • At least 8-characters.
  • At least one uppercase alphabetic character (e.g., A-Z).
  • At least one lowercase alphabetic character (e.g., a-z).
  • At least one number (e.g., 0-9).
  • At least one special character (e.g., ~!@#$%^&*()_-+=).
Cannot Contain
  • Known information (i.e., first and last name, Andrew userID, preferred email address).
Additional Policies
  • Expires within 90 days.
  • Last five passwords cannot be used.
  • Cannot be changed more than once per day.

Oracle Financials

Must Contain
  • At least 8-characters.
  • At least one alphabetic character (e.g., a-z).
  • At least one number (e.g., 0-9).
Cannot Contain
  • Your Andrew userID
  • Three or more occurrences of the same character (e.g., aaaa, 2222, a123a345a678a).
Additional Policies
  • Expires within 90 days.
  • Last five passwords cannot be used

  1. Change password area
  2. Click Apply.  A confirmation or an error will appear at the top of the screen.
    • Confirmation - click Home to return to the Oracle Applications Home Page.

Password Change Errors

An error message will appear at the top of the screen, if your new password does not meet the password requirements.
The following are possible error messages:
  • Failed to update password. Passwords must contain at least one letter and one number.
  • Failed to update password. Passwords must not contain your username.
  • Failed to update password. Passwords must not contain repeating characters.
  • Failed to update password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long.
  • Failed to update password. Passwords cannot be reused.
Try entering a different password into the New and Repeat Password fields and click Apply.

Important Note:: Your Oracle Financials password is different from your Andrew and other enterprise applications (HRIS, SIS, PAS) passwords.
