Oracle Applications R12 installation Steps on Windows2003 server



Pr-requisites:
A]: Standard System Requirements
Pentium 4 Processor | At least – 2 GB RAM | Windows2003 Server SP-1 (Standard Ed.) OS |
At least – 250 GB HDD (with two partitions as 15GB, 12GB, 210GB)
Software’s Requirements:
1.      Visual C++ 2005
2.      CYGWIN
3.      Get Java 1.5.0 install on your machine and the path till jdk1.5.0 \ bin is added in the environment variable
4.      Also IIS need to be installed from windows OS cd

Confirm that you have got the installation of Win 2003 Server SP-1 OS Done.

STEP I: Set TCP/IP Connections

Go to Network Connections:
(N)Desktop > My Network Places > Right Click on this and Select Properties
Open Local Area Connection > Click Properties
Then Select Internet Protocol TCP/IP > Click Properties > Select use following IP for this as Eg:10.15.232.23
Add additional Network Connection:
(N)Start Menu > Setting > Control panel > Select Add Hardware
Then Click Next
Choose Yes, I have already connected the Hardware
Then Click Next
Choose Add New Hardware from Installed Hardware Options
Then Click Next
Select Install the Hardware That I manually select form list (Advanced)
Then Click Next
Choose Network Adapter from Common hardware type
Then Click Next
Confirm selection Manufacturer is Microsoft and Network Adapter is Microsoft Loopback Adapter
Then Click Next > Click Next > Click Finish

Again Go to Network Connections:
(N)Desktop > My Network Places> Right Click on this and Select Properties
Select Local Area Connection 2 (Microsoft Loopback Adapter) > Enter TCP/IP for this as Eg: 192.168.1.100

STEP II: Create New User to access Oracle Applications
(N)Desktop > My Computer > Right Click on this and Select manage
Expand Local Users and Group > Click on Users >
Right Click on this and Create New User as applmgr and enter password as applmgr
Then select applmgr > right Click on it and select properties
Select Member of tab > click on Add > Click on Advanced > Click on Find Now
 Click on OK > Click on OK > Click Apply > Click OK

STEP III: Name Computer System
(N)Desktop > My Computer > Right Click on this and Select Properties
Select Computer Name Tab > click Change > Click more
Then Enter oracle.com as Primary DNS Suffix of this Computer.
Then Click OK > Click OK
It will ask you to restart the system Click OK >
Let the System Restart

After Restart
STEP IV: Create required folders to Structure the installation
Create new three folders in Drive D:\ as
D:\MSVC2005
D:\CYGWIN
D:\TEMP

Installation of Pre-requisite Software

Step-1: Install Visual C++ 2005
E:\Step1_VisualC++2005\setup\setup.exe
Run setup.exe > Click Next >
Select Full option
Select path for install as D:\MSVC2005
Click Install> (this installation takes about approx. 20 min time)
Click Finish > shows window Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Setup
Select Restart Now

After Restart
Step-2: Install CYGWIN
E:\Step2_Cygwin\setup.exe
Click Next > Select Install from Local Directory > Click Next
Select Root Directory as D:\CYGWIN
Then select Install for All Users (RECOMMENDED) and
Select Default Text File Type DOS /Text > Click Next
Select Local Package Directory E:\Step2_Cygwin\ftp…. > Click Next
In Select Packages to install windows Select Curr Option
There Choose All * Install (click on to toggle to change Default to install)
(Note: Do not choose All Default, since this will not include all the necessary files)
There Expand Devel Select third option (Skip) just single Click on it to make it applicable for Install.
Click Next > Click Next (here CYGWIN is getting installed into your system)
Click Finish

Step-3: Configure Environment Variables
(N)Desktop > My Computer > Right Click and select Properties
Select Advanced Tab > Click on Environment Variables button
Under System Variables > Select Path > Click on Edit button >
At end of variable value type ;D:\CYGWIN\bin > Click OK
Under System Variables > Select TMP> Click on Edit button >
At end of TMP variable value type ;D:\TEMP > Click OK > Click OK > Click OK

To check the path is set properly
Go to Start Menu > Run > type cmd and Click Enter >
In command window type set path > (there u will find in path C:\CYGWIN\bin is added)
Exit from Command window.

Step-4: Update Compatibility with Shell Scripts
Type these commands to maintain compatibility with existing shell scripts:
C:\Cygwin\bin > rename awk.exe to rem_awk.exe
C:\Cygwin\bin > rename gawk.exe to awk.exe
C:\Cygwin\bin > rename grep.exe to egrep.exe
C:\Cygwin\bin > rename make.exe to gnumake.exe
C:\Cygwin\bin > rename cc.exe to rem_cc.exe
C:\Cygwin\bin > There rename gcc.exe to cc.exe

STEP V: Rapid Install R12 Oracle Applications
(N)Start Menu > Run
Enter cmd and Click on Enter (Keyboard)
You will get command prompt with command as C:\Documents and setting\ Administrator>
Then C:\Documents and setting\ Administrator>cd\ (Enter-KB)
C:\>E: (Enter-KB)
E:\>cd stager12 (Enter-KB)
E:\stager12>cd startCD (Enter-KB)
E:\stager12\startCD>cd Disk1 (Enter-KB)
E:\stager12\startCD\Disk1>cd rapidwiz (Enter-KB)
E:\stager12\startCD\Disk1\rapidwiz>rapidwiz.cmd (Enter-KB)

(D:\Oracle apps software 2\Oracle apps\OracleR12_win32\R1204 Win32 ZIP Install
\V11935-01.zip\startCD\Disk1\rapidwiz - ZIP archive, unpacked size 1,627,685,130 bytes)

You will get Install Oracle Application R12 RAPID INSTALL Wizard
Click Next

Select Wizard Operation as Install Oracle Applications R12
Click Next

Select Decline Oracle Connection Tools Agreement
Click Next

Choose Create a New Configuration
Click Next

In Global System Setting Click on Edit Ports (Confirm all the Port values are available there)
Click OK > Click Next


At Database node Configuration
Base Install Directory as E:\Oracle\VIS
Click Next


Configuration information for node
Unix Toolkit Directory as D:\CYGWIN\bin\
Visual Studio Directory as D:\MSVC2005\VC\
Base Install Directory as E:\oracle\VIS
Instance Directory as E:\oracle\VIS\inst

Click on Edit Services Button for Other Service Group choose enabled option
Click OK

Click on Edit Path Button
Confirm you get all the paths at E:\.... oracle
Click OK

Click Next
Node Information (Default)
Click Next
You will get one window System Check Status.

Wait for some time System Check Status window will execute to check node availability and once done will immediately go off and show Validate System Configuration Window (Check all seven options are having Green Check marks)
Click Next >

Click Next >


Oracle Application Rapid Install Wizard alert Click YES

Then you will find the Installing Oracle Applications Step 1 of 5
(This will complete all 5 steps one by one)
